The 34th annual luncheon will take place at Manzo’s Banquets, 1571 S. Elmhurst Rd., Des Plaines, IL, (847.593.2233) on Friday, April 8, 2011. The building is handicapped accessible and there is ample parking.

Beginning at 11:00 A.M., quilts, kits, and fair trade products can be displayed and viewed. Lunch will be served at 12:00 noon.

The Rev. John Nunes, president and CEO of Lutheran World Relief (LWR), will be the guest speaker. He leads staff in 17 countries in working to end poverty, injustice and human suffering worldwide. Pastor Nunes is the author of Voices from the City: Issues and Images of Urban Preaching, and with his wife Monique, he co-authored a children’s book Little Things Make Big Differences: a Story about Malaria.
